Bank statements

How to download a Thai bank statement: every major bank, step by step

Every Thai bank now lets you pull a statement from its app for free. The trouble is that each one hides the button somewhere different, caps the period differently, and locks the PDF with a password it never tells you about. This guide covers the six banks most people in Thailand use, what to do when you need a stamped copy for immigration, and how to open the file once it lands in your inbox.

Passwords are where most people get stuck, so a note before the details. The conventions in the table come from Thai how-to sites and forum reports, not from every bank's own documentation. Banks change them without announcing it, and a foreigner's account is sometimes keyed to a passport number instead of a birthday. If your first guess fails, read the request email carefully. Most banks state the format in the body text, in Thai.

KBank: K PLUS

Open K PLUS, tap the account, then Statement, then Request Statement (ขอ Statement). Pick the months you want and the language, then submit. The PDF arrives by email, usually within a few minutes.

KBank's own English page says you can request up to the past 12 months, which is true, but the picker only allows six months per request. Cover a year by submitting two requests. That matters for immigration, because you hand over two PDFs instead of one continuous document. Some officers accept that; others send you to the branch.

The password is your date of birth as eight digits, day-month-year, using the Western year (05011970, not 05012513). K PLUS offers no CSV or Excel export for personal accounts. If you need the numbers in a spreadsheet, you have to parse the PDF yourself, or use a tool that does it for you.

SCB: SCB EASY

Add and verify an email address under More → Settings first. SCB won't send a statement to an unverified address, and this trips up more people than the menu does.

Then go to your accounts, tap the account, choose Other Services (บริการอื่นๆ), then Request Account Statement (ขอรายการเดินบัญชี). Pick a range up to 12 months and submit. The PDF shows up in about five minutes. SCB's own article (Thai) gives the same 12-month limit and email delivery.

The password follows the date of birth pattern, DDMMYYYY, Western year. SCB's official how-to page shows seven screenshots but says nothing about the password or fees, which is why this paragraph exists. Branch copies cost ฿100 for up to six months and ฿200 beyond that, and you walk out with it the same day.

Bangkok Bank: Bualuang mBanking

Tap the account, then the three-dot menu in the top right, then Request Account Statement (ขอรายการเดินบัญชี). Choose the period (up to 12 months, per Bangkok Bank's FAQ) and the language, then submit. The bank states delivery within one day; in practice it usually arrives within the hour.

Two quirks matter here. First, the app statement runs from the start of a calendar month to the previous day, not from an arbitrary start date, and data before 9am can lag by two days. Request it a day or two before an immigration appointment, not the morning of, so a gap at the end of your 12-month period doesn't cost you a day the officer is counting. Second, Bangkok Bank is the slow one for stamped statements: a branch prints six months on the spot, but a 12-month stamped statement comes from head office and takes three to seven working days. Some branches also refuse to stamp a self-printed app PDF. Plan a week ahead if an extension depends on it.

If you receive money from Wise, Bangkok Bank often books it as a domestic transfer, because Wise pays out through a local partner bank. That's a problem if you need to prove foreign income. Our guide on what counts as remitted income covers how Wise transfers actually show up on a Thai statement, and what to do about it.

Krungsri: krungsri app (KMA)

Go to Accounts (บัญชีของฉัน), pick the account, tap Request Statement (ขอ Statement), set the period, and submit. The email arrives immediately and the service is free. You can request up to 12 months, but only three times per account per day, and today's transactions won't be included. A new account has to wait a day before its first request works. Krungsri's user manual lists these limits.

Older Thai guides still say six months; the current limit is 12. The password is your date of birth, but sources disagree on whether it wants the Western or Buddhist year, so try both. Branch statements cost around ฿200 and take about 20 minutes.

TTB: ttb touch

TTB works differently from the rest. Tap the account, then More (อื่นๆ), then Statement (รายการเดินบัญชี), choose the format, and tap Generate Statement. The app builds the PDF directly and you save or share it right away, with no email round trip. Users report the file carries no password. TTB's ttb touch guide (Thai) shows the same steps.

Don't confuse this with TTB's dStatement menu, which is a separate ฿75 service that sends a verified statement to another bank for a loan application. That's not what you want for your own records. TTB's own Thai guide says the app PDF isn't suitable for government submission, though at least one long-term customer reports immigration accepting ttb touch printouts every year. Stamped branch copies start at ฿100.

Krungthai: Krungthai NEXT

Set an email address in the app first. Then tap the account, More (เมนูอื่นๆ), then Statement, choose the period and language, and submit. Delivery is by email and free.

The password is unusual: it's your 13-digit Thai national ID number, not your birthday. If your account was opened on a passport, no source documents the equivalent rule; try the passport number, and ask at a branch if that fails. Published period limits (five or six months per request) date from 2019–2022, and Krungthai's current page didn't load for us, so treat those numbers as unconfirmed.

Opening a password-protected PDF

Once you know the password, any PDF reader opens the file. If you want a copy without the password, open it in Preview on a Mac or in Chrome, choose Print, and save as PDF — the new file carries no lock. Do this only on your own device. A statement is a full record of where you shop and how much you earn, so don't email the password-free copy around or leave it in a shared Downloads folder.

If the password gets refused, the usual causes are a wrong calendar (Buddhist year 2513 versus Western 1970), leading zeros dropped from the day or month, or a bank keying your file to a passport number because the account was opened on one. The request email almost always states the rule in Thai. Paste it into a translator if you need to.

What immigration accepts

For retirement and marriage extensions you need to show the money seasoned in a Thai bank, usually with a bank letter dated within a week and a 12-month statement. Whether an app PDF is enough depends on the office.

Forum reports from 2023–2025 say the unstamped app PDF has been accepted at Chaeng Wattana in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, and Ratchaburi. Jomtien has asked for a wet stamp. Korat started requiring full 12-month statements in 2024. None of this is written policy; it's whatever the officer in front of you wants that day.

The safer approach, and the one moderators on the expat forums keep recommending, is to get the stamped branch statement when you collect the bank letter anyway. It costs ฿100–200 and removes the argument. If you bank with Bangkok Bank, order it a week ahead.

Turning the PDF into something useful

A statement PDF is a snapshot. It doesn't tell you what you spent on food last quarter, how much withholding tax the bank took off your interest, or how much you moved in from abroad this year — the kind of totals you need if you file a Thai tax return.

ThaiWealth AI reads the statement PDF, works out which lines are 7-Eleven and which are your landlord, and gives you a category breakdown, budgets, and a deduction ledger for the RMF, SSF, insurance, and donation purchases it finds. KBank statements import today; SCB and Bangkok Bank are in development. Upload up to three statements a month for free, or try the demo with a sample ledger first. There's no bank login involved, ever — you download the PDF exactly as described above and drop it in.

If you'd rather stay in a spreadsheet, the same PDF-to-table step is what paid converter tools charge for. Either way, the download instructions above come first.

Frequently asked questions

How far back can I get a statement from a Thai bank app?

Most apps show 12 months of history. KBank caps each request at six months, so you need two requests to cover a year. For anything older, go to a branch; KBank and Krungthai charge ฿500 for statements over 24 months.

Why does my Thai bank statement PDF ask for a password?

Banks encrypt emailed statements. The password is usually your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format, Western year, for KBank, SCB, Bangkok Bank, and Krungsri, and your 13-digit ID number for Krungthai. TTB's in-app PDF carries no password. The request email normally states the rule in Thai.

Can I get a Thai bank statement in English?

KBank and Bangkok Bank let you choose English when you request the statement in the app. Krungthai and SCB offer a language choice too, though we couldn't confirm from official pages that the English version differs from the Thai one beyond the headings. Transaction descriptions are often Thai regardless of which language you pick.

Does immigration accept a bank statement downloaded from the app?

Sometimes. Chaeng Wattana, Chiang Mai, and Hua Hin have accepted app PDFs according to recent forum reports; Jomtien has demanded a stamped version. Get the stamped copy from the branch to be safe, and allow a week if you bank with Bangkok Bank.

Can I export a Thai bank statement to Excel or CSV?

Not from the personal banking apps, which only produce PDF. KBank's business platform has CSV export, and Bangkok Bank's web banking reportedly offers Excel, but the retail apps give you PDF only. You need something to parse it: ThaiWealth AI does this for KBank statements during import, and paid converter tools exist for the rest.

Is a bank statement the same as an e-passbook or transaction history?

No. The in-app transaction list is a live view you can scroll; the statement is a dated PDF for a fixed period with the bank's name on it. Immigration, embassies, and landlords want the statement. Use the transaction list for your own checking.
